Circular Self Leveling Machine
The Circular Self Leveling Machine can be built to the diameter required for your project. The modular design concept permits us to bridge existing structures or features, which means that the surface being worked on need not be perfectly flat or clear of all obstructions. In this way, the outer roller path face can be machined on a Dragline base while the Slew drive racks are still in position.
Hydro Electric Power House machining
The Ingula Hydro Power Pumped Storage System is South Africa's latest and most advanced PSS. SLM Africa are proud to have been involved in this prestigeous project. On behalf of Voith Hydro, we machined the embedded diameters of the spiral casing to the required tolerances for turbine clearances. We also machined the Bottom Rings and Top Covers to ensure the correct vertical clearances of the turbine stack.
X-Y Milling
The versatility of the X-Y Milling machine is ideal for the machining of large bases for Motors and Gearboxes. Typical flatness of 0.005" eliminate the need for chocking compounds or shims and ensures the maximum operating life is achieved from expensive installed equipment.
Steel Mill Stand machining
Our Symetrical X-Y milling machine was designed specifically for the Arcelor Mittal Long Products mill in Newcastle and permitted the parallel machining of worn guide faces in the Rod-Mill vertical guides. After machining we were able to insert wear plates to bring a 45 Year-Old Mill stand back to original installation dimensions and tolerances.
